Obviously, if producers are to try and make something similar to an assassination classroom, it means it’s good. Assassination Classroom is not just good, but it has been rated as the best anime series for the past ten years; its presence is such a memorable series you will never forget.
Did you see what it did to the Shonen genre? Completely changed it! .it tells its story in a clear and clarified way without making it longer than it needs to be.
Amazing right!! Now that Assassination class is finished, some other anime have a similar vibe. Some of which have lasting impressions, too. Some of which we tried, tested and approved.
1. Classroom of the Elite
Tokyo Koudo IKusei Senior High School is known to offer scholarships to university students, and you will find a job there. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka applied but was thrown into a class well known for its naughty students, Class 1-D. Monthly, the school gave students cash value money of 100,000 yen for each student’s value point.
Class 1-D had a free-hand rule, allowing talking, sleeping, and even vandalism. Amongst the naughty of the naughtiest was Horikita Suzane, who opposed her classmates’ bad behaviour and kept her distance from them. I know you noticed how beautiful she is!
Although the school offered so much money to students, she managed to find a way that the school also helped those students with no money. Soon after, they [ Horikita and Ayanokouji ] discovered how the school system worked
2. My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia gives a more positive approach to Assassination Classroom. In My Hero Academia, the students are taught how to protect and save the world from comic character villains, but Assassination Classroom teaches students ways to kill their teachers.
The mentorship bond between Izuku “Deku” Midoriya and his favourite superhero, All Might, as a teacher is truly amazing.
3. Great Teacher Onizuka
The great teacher is a first and one of a kind. We have a 22-year-old male teacher, Eikichi Onizuka, who was your regular teacher. His street credit was over the roof, as he once led a dangerous motorcycle gang.
The majority of students were just culprits. Anyway, he was offered a place at a private school called Holy Forest Academy, and his current students, Class 3-A, humble him.
He later realizes his students are going through a lot of depression, aggravation, gang wars, etc. Filled with pity, Onizuka sought to assist them in their issues, even if it meant illegal ways. One time, he risked his life to save a student from ending their own life. He was ready to jump off a multi-storey building.
He reminds us of Koro-sensei from Assassination Classroom, as they would rather die than watch their students go through all that.
4. One-Punch Man
When we look at One Punch Man and Assassination Classroom, it doesn’t seem like they have anything similar. Koro-sensei is driven by the desire to push his students forward till they can manage to take him down, while Saitama is looking for a worthy opponent so he can enjoy saving the day.
One punch man is a hero, while Koro-sensei is a villain in a way. Either way, both characters hunger to face an opponent much greater than them.
5. Spy Classroom
When every nation across the globe is involved in a secret spy war, there will always be a chance for those willing to take on the task. The world’s greatest spy responds to this by gathering a force committed to dealing with these impossible missions. However, all the seven members of the team have no experience.
6. Hunter X Hunter
The Hunter X Hunter world is a little more like assassination in the sense that there’s a group called the Hunter Association whose students have to take tests for them to be licensed killers.
In this case, Wing is the Korosensei and cares for his students. They only differ because the Hunter Association is well-planned and way more complicated than Class 3-E.
The hunter’s examination has no age restriction, and the youngest are often called Rookies. Many characters can also act like teachers [remember everyone’s favourite, Wing]
7. Angel Beats!
We have Assassination Classroom straight if we replace the aliens with angels in Angel Beats and the spirituality concept with an apocalyptic ultimatum. Angel Beats takes us back to high school, although many animes show it from a fictional viewpoint.
In Angel Beats, the high school is like a temporal resting place for spirits before moving forward to the afterlife. The idea of spirits in a high school on its own is crazy, but bigger issues await in the afterlife. So yeah, both anime are not directly the same, but the characters and funny scenes are similar.
8. The Promised Neverland
Far far away from the outside world was a remote, secluded orphanage. There was one and only one rule: never to roam around the orphanage gates. Amongst the many orphans were Ray, Emma and Norman.
It was like they were in paradise, surrounded by friends, with people to care for and look after you. Unfortunately, all this ends at twelve, as they are moved into the foster system. Watch them as they slowly realize the hardships of this life.
9. Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto
The name on its own is intimidating. Like it’s a must for you to know Sakamoto or else… Sakamoto is considered one of those chilled high school guys every girl wants. For that reason, all the guys were jealous and filled with hate. Many also tried to trick him, but somehow, he outsmarted them.
10. Baka & Test: Summon The Beasts
One of my high school fantasies was facing our seniors in battle. In Baka and test, a group of problematic students in the last class is coming together to battle those at the top. It’s one anime you won’t regret turning in, too.
The real twist is that these students cheat as they summon beasts to fight their battles. These beast powers are linked to their exam marks. Who thought of this? The only way for them to win is by actually studying. Baka & Test: Summon The Beasts is almost similar to Assassination Classroom.
11. Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Tsunayoshi Sawada, also known as “No Good Tsuna”, is next in line to lead the Vongola family. He is the tenth boss in the family line. Although he has no interest in partaking in anything related to his family business, He hates anything to do with the mafia. He avoids anyone who is associated with the mafia.
However, one day, an expert hitman, Reborn, is sent to get him ready to take out the current boss. Reborn is friendly and cares about his students, willing to fight to see them succeed. Similar to Korosensei, Reborn likes to tease his students to entertain them.
12. Riddle Story of a Devil
In a girls-only private boarding school called Myoujou Academy are students of Class Black of an elite. Each student is an assassin and must participate in a trial.
The trial requires them to murder one of their classmates, Haru Ichinose. She wasn’t the villain type but was compassionate and friendly.
Each student has one shot at killing Haru, and whoever succeeds is gifted with a one-of-a-kind reward. However, if you fail, you leave the academy for good. Do you see the resemblance with Assassination Classroom now?
13. Akame Ga Kill!
Night Raid is a secret unit in the Revolutionary Army, consisting only of highly skilled assassins. Their task is to gather information and kill anyone considered evil within the Empire.
Their mission is to search and return all the Teigus to prevent the Empire from causing chaos and destruction in its weak and vulnerable villages.
It’s similar to Assassination Classroom in that, in Classroom, assassins only kill one person, while in Akame Ga, kill! Assassins eliminate anyone involved with the brutal Empire.
14. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
Kusuo Saiki might look like an ordinary 16-year-old high school student, but what makes him different is his psychic abilities. He can get anything he likes, but the downside is that he can read people’s minds.
He knew everyone’s thoughts, secrets and feelings, so nothing surprised him. For years, he managed to control his powers, but the temptation in high school got the best out of him.
15. Kill La Kill
What makes Kill La Kill stand out among other series is the violent battles and havoc within a school setting, just like Assassination Classroom. In Kill La Kill, power is your ally.
Battle rankings and ruthless tournaments rule the school. Staying true to the TRIGGER’s style, the anime is jaw-dropping, with breathtaking fight scenes.
Characters are empowered extraterrestrial living fibres- no wonder their action is on another level. These fibres provide power, just like Koro-Sensei’s abilities.
16. Medaka Box
Medaka Kurombi, a popular high school girl, just got elected as the new student council president of Hakoniwa Academy. Aiming to ensure every student was pleased, she decided to install a suggestion box called Medaka Box.
But little did she know that completing the requests of the Medaka Box would reveal the unusual and bizarre characteristics of Hakoniwa Academy
17. The Gokusen
Since Kumiko Yamaguchi was a kid, she has always wanted to be a teacher. She thought it was impossible, but she eventually landed a job as a teacher at Shirokin Gakuen Private Boys’ High School.
As time passed, she realized her class was filled with delinquents, but this didn’t scare her off – given her being the leader of the powerful yakuza. She kept it a secret, though.
Her students tried, by all means, to get rid of her; they even went to the extent of spreading rumours. Her students always pushed her to the edge of revealing her true self [ yakuza head ], but she knew it was best that it remained a secret. She also faces challenges from her students like Korosensei, with an amusing outcome eventually.
18. Tomodachi Game
Students test their schools’ ranking system by showing their value. In the Tomodachi Game, their friendships are tested. Yuichi grew up surrounded by his close friends; although he was poor, his friends were always there to help.
The school organized a school trip, and Yuichi started saving up for the trip, but suddenly, his savings disappeared. Even though his friends, Makoto and Shiho, blamed themselves, they took it.
Soon after, Yuichi and his friends are kidnapped and kept in a room. Manabu-Kun, a cancelled TV show mascot [ their kidnapper ], forces them to participate in his “friendship game “to help one of their previous friends pay off a huge debt.
While trying to figure out who the friend might be, they didn’t know who they could trust or would regret it later. They knew their friendship bond wasn’t as strong as it looked at that moment.
19. Mob Psycho 100
In general terms, Mob Psycho 100 can not be directly compared to Assassination Classroom. Mob Psycho 100 is more of great, powerful psychic espers and many deceiving charlatans.
However, Shigeo Kageyama starts as a shy and submissive hero, and we can say the same for Nagisa Shiota from Assassination ClassroomsClassroom.
Slowly, slowly, both characters emerge from hiding their true self and become leaders, given their situations. Mob Psycho has 100 actors, fewer than Assassination, but still, it gives the same energy as Koro-Sensei.
20. Ultimate Otaku Teacher
All our teachers are not really “know it alls “. They are not perfect. They give it their all to try and teach us things we might one day need or even change our lives. Jumichirou Kagami wasn’t interested in teaching, but his sister, Suzane, made him take the job as she was tired of his stubbornness.
Junichirou’s knowledge of his assigned position is not enough to impart to his students. However, he is a bit of an odd otaku who is free-spirited and speaks his mind openly. He is willing to go above and beyond for his students. So you see their similarities: Junichirou and Koro-Sensei care a lot about their students.
21. The Daily Life Of The Immortal King
We can’t call “The Daily Life Of The Immortal King “an anime. It’s a type of animation made in China called “donghua “. It’s not important, but it’s similar to Korea’s manhwa and aeni.
It’s a name that will soon become common as Chinese animation spreads across Asia. Specifically, Haoliners Animation League (HAL) and its Longhua are like psychic princesses and Heaven’s Official Blessing.
Although looking at the two, Immortal King and Elite, their school arrangements are similar, and the lead characters are both more special than others. It differs in the sense that Wang Ling lowers himself and hides the fact that he can destroy the entire universe.
He’s been using an amulet given to him by his parents to conceal his powers. Still, as he’s getting older [emotions getting stronger and danger approaches ], he’s about to lose control over his power.
22. Gintama
Suppose you like the ridiculousness of the assassination classroom. In that case, you’ll enjoy Gitama, which features an unusual cast of warriors who do weird jobs to protect feudal Japan from evil aliens [ the way they do it is surprising]. Both animes are known for their anime parodies and a mixture of comedy with touching moments.
23. Talentless Nana
It’s a teen anime. These teenagers possess supernatural abilities called “talent”, such as pyrokinesis and time travel. They improved their powers at an academy on an isolated island. Their main duty is to fight and protect humanity from the horrific creatures which landed on Earth fifty years ago.
Among the teenagers is Nanao Nakajima, who has no supernatural abilities. And since he was the only one without this, he was an easy target for bullies. [I don’t even know how he ended up here anyway].
Regardless of his case, he still pushes himself to finish his training. The class is later joined by transfer student Nana Hiiragi, who could read minds and the secretive Kyouya Onodera. As they settled in as one, Kyouya disappeared, putting the whole class at risk.
24. Danganronpa: The Animation
Makoto Naegi couldn’t believe he got accepted into Hope’s Peak Academy; even though he was a smart student, he still thought he was lucky. He passed out right before the main doors on his first day in the academy. By the time he woke up, all his classmates had gone, including the teacher.
Afterwards, he joined his classmates in the gym, where the principal confronted him. Monokuma, a robotic teddy bear, is the principal of the academy.
Each student is given two choices: either kill another classmate to escape or stay in the school for a lifetime. That is some next-level dark shit right there.
Danganroppa is just as entertaining as Assassination Classroom; the only difference is that Danganroppa is demonic and has a horrific element.
